Volunteer Training

All new volunteers are required to attend a New Volunteer Training prior to teaching. The training gives an introduction to BEACON English Language & Literacy, our policies, Teaching Adults, Teaching Adult Language Learners, and Lesson Planning. Volunteer instructors also observe a class prior to starting. Ongoing Volunteer trainings are available to all volunteers and are about specific topics related to teaching such as Teaching to a Multilevel Class, Teaching to Different Learning Styles, Teaching Reading, or Games/Interactive Activities for the Classroom.
