BEACON is a non-profit Community Based Literacy Organization. We offer low cost English and Citizenship classes. We depend upon the generosity of businesses, civic groups, individuals, churches and grantors for funding. Our donors are important partners in helping BEACON to carry the education torch and be a beacon of hope to the continually growing numbers of adults and families needing our services in our area.

In-Kind Donations
In addition to time and money, BEACON welcomes in-kind donations. Our current needs include:
Classroom Space For 2 Hours, Two or Three Times Per Week
- We would be interested in offering services at your location if you have the capacity to host at least 5 classes simultaneously with classrooms that have a 15 person capacity
Educational Materials
- Short stories written at K-8 reading levels
- Dry erasers & markers (black, blue, red)
- Easels and flipchart paper or whiteboards
- Large post-it boards
- Certificate paper
Office Supplies
- Labels (Avery #5264)
- Letter size file folders
- Letter size pastel colored paper
- General office supplies (pens, post-its, tape, copy paper, etc.)
Business Services
- Printing (letterhead, newsletters, pens, bags, other logo items)
- Marketing (design brochures, outreach boards, other printed materials)
Financial Donations
We encourage those who want to contribute to come and see our classroom sites to see the value of donations and we are happy to meet with those interested in sponsoring portions of the program.
BEACON has strong program management and strict financial practices, volunteer time and in-kind space donations enable all donations to be matched at least 2 for 1 for service value.
