How are Learning Circles different from a class?

Duration 8 weeks 12 weeks
Times Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 PM Tuesday & Thursday, 7:00-8:00 PM
Instruction

Informal, participants learn from app, and peers with support from a fluent English speaker.

Participants have more input on topics/lessons.

Formal, teacher provides instruction and opportunities for practice.

Participants have some limited input, however textbook primarily provides structure for content.

Eligibility

Individual must:

  • live in Prince William County, the City of Manassas, or the City of Manassas Park and be 18+ years old.
  • make an appointment online to come to an in-person registration and take a placement test.
  • not be a currently enrolled BEACON student.
  • be available for either Monday Morning or  Tuesday evening Learning Circle group zoom meetings
  • commit to using the English Learning app or website each week outside of the group meetings.

Individual must:
