Volunteer Opportunities
We are always in need of skilled, dedicated volunteers to support our work.

You’ve come to the right place!
There are many volunteer opportunities with BEACON. Each is significant to the organization and rewarding to the volunteer. Most of our needs are for volunteer ESOL teachers. We do not require previous teaching experience or that you speak another language. We ask all volunteer to attend a new volunteer orientation (free of charge) which covers who we are as an organization, best practices for teaching adults, tips for teaching language learners, and lesson planning.
Classes are held in the mornings from 9:30 to 11:30, or in the evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 at various locations around the county through partnerships with our host sites. We ask volunteer teachers to commit to either two or four hours per week for a minimum of one semester. Each semester averages 12 weeks in duration. Free ongoing professional development opportunities are available throughout the year.
