Beginner students have the greatest language barrier and rely on volunteers to incorporate additional visual support, extra repetition, and go at a slower pace. With a lot of support, students at this level respond to very basic questions with yes/no responses or a one worded answer. Intermediate level students can respond to basic sentences and have emerging ability to respond in complete sentences and some basic writing skills. Advanced level students can communicate with most English speakers. They want more practice with idioms, grammar, and writing and are very conversational.
